Scope
This standard specifies a specific test method for determining the losses and efficiency of AC induction motors within the scope of IEC 600341 when powered by frequency converters. AC induction motors are also part of frequency-controlled electric drive systems (PDS) defined by IEC 618002, IEC 618004, or IEC/TS 618008. The additional harmonic losses determined by this standard are used to compare different motor designs, but they are not suitable for determining the efficiency of PDS, which is a drive device with the function of adjusting the torque and speed over a wide range.
