Scope

This section specifies the method of evaluating the color of yellow or brown transparent liquids using a color measurement device and the Gardner color scale. If used to measure the color of other liquids, the results may be invalid. This section is applicable to dry oils, varnishes, and fatty acid solutions, polymerized fatty acids, resins, tall oil, tall oil fatty acids, rosin, and related products. This section is applicable to products with a color ranging from Gardner color scale 1 to 18, and is not applicable to products with a color lighter than Gardner color scale 1 or darker than Gardner color scale 18.
