Scope

This standard specifies the verification and validation processes applicable to the entire life cycle of systems, software, and hardware, including acquisition, supply, development, operation, maintenance, and disposal. This standard is applicable to the V&V work of nuclear power plant instrumentation and control systems and electrical systems. Users of this standard may implement certain life cycle processes and related verification and validation processes according to the actual situation of the project. For the description of system life cycle processes, please refer to ISO/IEC 15288:2008, and for the description of software life cycle processes, please refer to ISO/IEC 12207:2008.
