Scope

This standard specifies the benchmark values for the energy efficiency design index of energy-saving ships.
This standard applies to ocean-going vessels of 400 gross tons and above that are listed in Table 1, three types of domestic ocean-going vessels listed in Table 2, and six types of inland waterway vessels listed in Table 3. It does not apply to vessels of these types that are equipped with diesel-electric propulsion, turbine propulsion, or hybrid propulsion systems.
