Scope

This standard is applicable to the determination of 14 phenolic compounds, including phenol, 2-chlorophenol, 4-chlorophenol, pentachlorophenol, 2,4-dichlorophenol, 2,6-dichlorophenol, 2,4,6-trichlorophenol, 2,4,5-trichlorophenol, 2,3,4,6-tetrachlorophenol, 4-nitrophenol, 2-methylphenol, 3-methylphenol, 4-methylphenol, and 2,4-dimethylphenol, in surface water, groundwater, domestic sewage, and industrial wastewater. Other phenolic compounds can also be determined using this method after method validation.
