Scope

This standard specifies the measurement method and measuring instruments for exhaust smoke of diesel engines during free acceleration. This standard applies to diesel engines used in various non-road mobile machinery operating under variable working conditions (such as diesel engines used in loaders, bulldozers, tractors, loading and unloading machinery, forklifts, road construction machines, and mobile cranes, etc.). This standard does not apply to diesel engines used in automobiles, three-wheeled vehicles, and low-speed trucks.
