Scope

This part specifies the test methods for determining the content of carbonyl compounds in organic chemical products: spectrophotometry and volumetric analysis. This part is applicable to the determination of the content of carbonyl compounds in water-soluble and alcohol-soluble organic chemical products. Spectrophotometry is suitable for the determination of samples with a mass fraction of carbonyl compounds less than or equal to 0.01%, and volumetric analysis is suitable for the determination of samples with a mass fraction of carbonyl compounds greater than 0.01%.
