Scope

This standard specifies a method for measuring the thickness of hardened film coatings using reflective interference spectroscopy. This standard is applicable to polyester films based on polyethylene terephthalate (PET), for which the thickness of a single layer of transparent hardened coating on the surface is measured. The thickness of transparent coatings on the surface of films based on other materials can also be measured using this method as a reference.
