YY/T 0872-2013 Test methods for ureteral stents
Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies the arbitration test methods for evaluating the characteristics of disposable ureteral stents with fixed devices at both ends, which are used for short-term drainage of urine from the kidneys to the bladder. The diameter of such stents is usually 3.7 Fr to 14.0 Fr, and the length is 8 cm to 30 cm. They are made of silicone rubber, polyurethane, and other polymers, and are supplied in non-sterile and disposable sterile forms.
There are cases of long-term retention (more than 30 days) of this product, but this is not common, so this standard does not include such cases. Similarly, this standard does not include ureteral stents for non-ureteral applications (such as nephrostomy and ileostomy). Due to the differences in the impact of hospital sterilization equipment and sterilization processes on the characteristics of stents, this standard is not applicable to non-sterile ureteral stents.
