Scope
This standard specifies the geometric conditions for measuring ISO diffuse transmittance density and f/4.5, f/1.6 projection transmittance density. Diffuse transmittance density is mainly used for images viewed on transparent illuminators (inspection boxes), contact-printed images, and images measured by projection systems with diffuse illumination. Projection density is mainly used for image measurement with a condenser lens. Although the density measurement methods specified in this standard are mainly used for image measurement, they are also often applied to the measurement of filters and other transparent materials.
