Scope

This standard specifies the basic principles, requirements, and guidance methods for the qualification of safety-grade cables and connectors in nuclear power plants. This standard applies to the qualification of safety-grade medium- and low-voltage power cables, control and instrumentation signal cables, including communication cables and connectors, in nuclear power plants. It also applies to the qualification of wires and cables within electrical equipment. This standard does not apply to the qualification of safety-grade optical cables in nuclear power plants.
