GB/T 6503-2008 Testing method for moisture regain of man-made fibres

Scope

This standard specifies the test method for the moisture regain of chemical fibers—the oven method. In cases of dispute, the in-box thermal weighing method shall be used to correct the drying mass measured under non-standard atmospheric conditions to the values under standard atmospheric conditions. The correction method is described in Appendix A. When this method is not applicable, the relevant parties shall agree on a corresponding test method. Appendix B is only applicable to polyester. This standard applies to the moisture regain of chemical fibers such as polyester (nylon), polyamide (nylon), polyacrylonitrile (acrylic fiber), polypropylene, formaldehyde modified polyvinyl alcohol (vinylon), polyvinyl chloride (chlorofiber), and cellulose fibers.
