Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and markings of road construction and maintenance machinery and equipment, namely road milling machines (hereinafter referred to as milling machines), as well as their user manuals, packaging, transportation, and storage.
This standard applies to self-propelled tracked milling machines and wheeled milling machines.
This standard does not apply to tractor-mounted milling machines, hand-operated milling machines, and non-dedicated milling machines such as those equipped with milling tools.
