Scope

This standard specifies the test method for the corrosion resistance of materials or products under a sulfur dioxide atmosphere and condensation conditions. This standard is applicable to the corrosion testing of metal coatings and inorganic coatings. This standard is not applicable to the corrosion testing of paint and varnish coatings. The results of this test cannot be directly used as a guide to the corrosion resistance of the tested materials in various environments encountered during use, nor can they be used as a direct guide to the relative corrosion resistance of different materials during use.
