Scope

This document describes the testing methods for the residual amounts of seven organic solvents (see Appendix A) and two inorganic solvents (sodium thiocyanate and concentrated sulfuric acid) in chemical fibers.
This document is applicable to some solution-spun chemical fibers, including spandex, acrylic fiber, polyimide fiber, meta-aramid fiber, polyvinyl alcohol fiber, ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fiber, lyocell fiber, polyacrylonitrile-based carbon fiber precursor, and para-aramid fiber. Other solution-spun chemical fibers can be used as reference for application.
