Scope
Main technical content: This standard specifies the high-performance liquid chromatography method for the determination of trigonelline, chlorogenic acid, and caffeine in coffee. This standard is applicable to the simultaneous determination of trigonelline, chlorogenic acid, and caffeine in coffee and its solid and liquid beverage products, such as raw coffee, roasted coffee, and instant coffee. The detection limit of this method is 0.50 mg/kg for trigonelline, 0.70 mg/kg for chlorogenic acid, and 0.50 mg/kg for caffeine. The quantification limit of this method is 1.50 mg/kg for trigonelline, 2.00 mg/kg for chlorogenic acid, and 1.50 mg/kg for caffeine.
