Scope

This standard specifies the requirements, testing methods, labels and instructions, packaging, transportation, and storage for ABO antibody identification test kits (column agglutination method). This standard applies to diagnostic reagents used for ABO blood group identification testing of red blood cells, which is based on the combination of immunohaematology, particle sieving, and centrifugation techniques, and is performed using microcolumns filled with materials such as gels and glass microbeads. This standard does not apply to diagnostic reagents used for ABO blood group identification testing in blood donor screening.
