Scope
This standard applies to X-ray source components and X-ray tube components equipped with rotating anode X-ray tubes used for medical diagnostic purposes. This medical diagnostic technology enables X-ray images to be received simultaneously at all points in the image receiving area. Unless otherwise specified, this standard also applies to X-ray tube components equipped with new rotating anode X-ray tubes. This standard does not apply to X-ray source components and X-ray tube components for special purposes, such as those with sudden changes in air kerma rate or those intentionally designed with special distribution characteristics.
