Scope

This standard specifies the terms, production techniques, bamboo shoot harvesting, product quality, grading, packaging, storage, and transportation for the cultivation of non-polluting forest products, namely bitter bamboo shoots in bamboo plantations. This standard applies to the cultivation and management of non-polluting bitter bamboo shoot plantations within Sichuan Province. Other bamboo species with similar biological and ecological characteristics to bitter bamboo can be used as reference. The bitter bamboo referred to in this standard is Pleioblastus maculatus of the Phyllostachys genus in the subfamily Bambusoideae of the Poaceae family, and it belongs to the category of compound-stem bamboo species.
