GB/T 4610-2008 Plastics—Determination of ignition temperature using a hot-air furnace
Basic Information
Scope
1.1 This standard specifies the test method for determining the flash ignition temperature and autoignition temperature of plastics using the hot air furnace method. It is one of the methods for evaluating the flammability of plastics. 1.2 This standard does not directly measure the combustion value or combustion rate of materials, nor does it provide the upper temperature limit for the safe use of plastics. It cannot be used to independently describe or evaluate the hazard and risk of materials, products, or finished products in actual fires. However, the test results can be used as one of the factors in the evaluation of fire hazard and risk. 1.3 The tests specified in this standard can be used for the relative evaluation of the flammability of different materials. The values obtained under these test conditions represent the lowest environmental temperature at which the material ignites. The test results can be used as a basis for classifying the flammability sensitivity of the material.
