Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, order content, classification, dimensions, appearance, and allowable deviations of stainless steel wires used in inert gas shielded welding; technical requirements; test methods; inspection rules; packaging; marking; handling; storage; and quality certificates. This standard applies to stainless steel wires (hereinafter referred to as "steel wires") used in non-melting electrode inert gas shielded arc welding and melting electrode inert gas shielded arc welding.
