Scope

This document describes a method for determining the fiber content in a two-component mixture of polyamide fibers and certain other fibers after the removal of non-fibrous substances, using the formic acid method:
—— Polyamide fibers;
—— Cotton, viscose fibers, cuprammonium fibers, modal fibers, lyocell fibers, flax fibers, ramie fibers, hemp fibers, polyester fibers, polyvinyl chloride fibers, polypropylene fibers, chlorinated fibers, polyacrylonitrile fibers, glass fibers, polyester composite elastic fibers, polyolefin elastic fibers, melamine fibers, and sheep's wool or other animal hair fibers.
This document does not apply to two-component mixtures of polyamide fibers and sheep's wool or other animal hair fibers when the content of the latter exceeds 25%.
