Scope

This part of GB/T 16840 specifies the technical appraisal method of electrical fire trace evidence—the definition, principle, instruments, samples, method steps, and judgment criteria of the macroscopic method. This part is applicable to the technical appraisal of the melting marks of copper and aluminum wires extracted from the fire scene during the investigation of the cause of the fire, based on their appearance characteristics or the surface morphology of the holes in the cross-section of the melting beads, in order to determine their melting properties.
