Scope
This standard is applicable to the determination of industrial 1-butene samples with a purity of not less than 99.00% (by mass fraction) and a content of hydrocarbon impurities such as propane, propylene, isobutane, n-butane, acetylene, cis-2-butene, isobutene, and trans-2-butene not less than 0.001% (by mass fraction). The content of propylene oxide, propargyne, and 1,3-butadiene should not exceed 2 mL/m3 and 10 mL/m3, respectively, or 0.001% (by mass fraction). Since this standard cannot determine all possible impurities such as oxygen-containing compounds, isobutene dimers, and water, it is necessary to apply other test methods to comprehensively characterize 1-butene samples.
