Scope
This standard stipulates: a) Five types of protocols running on connection-oriented network services: 1) Type 0: Simple type; 2) Type 1: Basic error recovery type; 3) Type 2: Multiplexing type; 4) Type 3: Error recovery and multiplexing type; 5) Type 4: Error detection and recovery type. These five types of protocols are specified for the transmission of connection-oriented data and control information from one transport entity to a peer transport entity.
