Scope

This standard specifies the design and testing requirements for single-use enteral nutrition catheters, single-use enteral feeding devices, and their connectors.
The standard does not specify the requirements for the radiopacity of enteral nutrition catheters.
Note: Enteral nutrition catheters intended for oral or nasal insertion should have their entire tube, or their head end, or be made radiopaque through intermittent marking. At present, there is no universal testing method for radiopacity. However, methods for formulating such a standard are currently under consideration.
