Scope

This standard specifies the design procedures for the following three types of graphic symbols: - Public information graphic symbols; - Graphic symbols used in safety signs and product safety labels; - Graphic symbols used in equipment and products. The aforementioned graphic symbols may be used in documents used by consumers. This standard applies to the design of the aforementioned graphic symbols related to consumers, but it does not apply to graphic symbols used in road traffic signs and technical product documentation.
