Scope

This document specifies the principles, general requirements, comparison samples, testing equipment, testing procedures, result evaluation, and testing reports for eddy current testing of steel rails. This document is applicable to eddy current testing of steel rails with symmetrical and asymmetrical cross-sections ranging from 43 kg/m to 75 kg/m. Eddy current testing of other steel rails can also be conducted with reference to this document.
