Scope: This standard specifies the terms and definitions, plot selection, variety selection, seedling cultivation, seedling management, transplanting, field management, pest and disease control, and harvesting for industrial chili production. This standard applies to industrial chili production. Main technical content: 1. Terms and definitions The following terms and definitions apply to this document: 1.1 Industrial chili Industrial chili is mainly used in industrial fields for the extraction of capsaicin and capsanthin. The chili types with a heat rating of over 500,000 SHU and a color value of over 15 are collectively referred to as industrial chili. 2. Plot selection The planting plot should be selected at an altitude of 500 m to 1,800 m, with a pH value of neutral or slightly acidic and light sandy loam soil. Avoid low-lying areas with poor drainage. Avoid continuous cropping with Solanaceae and Cucurbitaceae crops. It is recommended to rotate with Gramineae, Cruciferae, and Leguminosae crops. The air quality of the production area, irrigation water quality, and soil environment should comply with the requirements of GB/T 3095, GB/T 5084, and GB/T 15618. 3. Variety selection Select varieties that are suitable for local climate and soil conditions, disease-resistant, high-quality, high-yielding, storage-friendly, market-oriented, and have good commercial value. The seed quality should meet the requirements of GB/T 16715.3. 4.
