Scope

This standard specifies a method for determining the colorfastness of various textiles to artificial light sources instead of natural sunlight, as well as their resistance to heat and aging. Under five different exposure conditions (see 6.1), four use D65 light sources, and one uses a light source with a shorter cutoff wavelength. This test method particularly takes into account the effects of light and heat generated inside motor vehicles on textiles. These five different exposure conditions can provide similar but not necessarily identical test results.
