Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the sodium content in insulating pulp, paper, and cardboard using flame emission spectrometry or flame atomic absorption spectrometry after dry and wet digestion. This standard applies to all types of insulating pulp, paper, and cardboard. It also applies to ordinary pulp, paper, and cardboard, but the sample amount needs to be adjusted according to the sodium content. The detection limit depends on the instrument used. When using flame emission spectrometry after dry and wet digestion, the detection limit of sodium can reach 2 mg/kg.
