GB/T 1838-2008 Test methods of tin coating mass for electrolytic tinplate

Scope

This standard specifies the principles, samples, test solutions and materials, test devices, test conditions and procedures for determining the tin coating amount on cold-rolled tin-plated steel sheets by the volumetric method and the coulometric method, as well as the calculation of test results and the preparation of test reports. Appendix A provides a fluorescent X-ray measurement method for determining the tin coating amount. This standard is applicable to the determination of the tin coating amount on cold-rolled tin-plated steel sheets. The effective measurement range of this standard is 0.5 g/m2 to 20 g/m2; the repeatability is 0.1 g/m2. The test method of this standard is applicable to the calibration of other tin coating amount test methods.
