Scope
This standard specifies the terms, sample preparation, test equipment and fixtures, test procedures, result calculation, and report content for the shear strength test of automotive brake pads (shoes) assemblies. This standard applies to the determination of the shear strength of automotive disc brake pads assemblies and drum brake shoes assemblies that are either integrally molded or bonded. This standard also applies to the determination of the shear strength of automotive brake pads (shoes) assemblies that are riveted together.
