GB/T 4497.1-2010 Rubber─Determination of total sulfur content—Part 1:Oxygen combustion flask method
Basic Information
Scope
This part of B/T 4497 specifies the method for determining the total sulfur content in rubber by the oxygen bottle combustion method.
This part is applicable to the determination of the total sulfur content in rubber and rubber products except those containing barium sulfate.
The method specified in this part is applicable to the determination of the total sulfur content in the following types of rubber: natural rubber, chloroprene rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber, cis-1,4-polybutadiene rubber, isoprene rubber, butyl rubber, EPDM rubber, nitrile rubber, hard rubber, and blends of the above-mentioned rubbers.
The method specified in this part is not suitable for samples containing lead, antimony, zinc, barium, and calcium compounds, as the results are usually underestimated. If calcium exists in the form of calcium carbonate, reliable test results can be obtained by changing the absorption solution.
