Scope
This standard specifies the principles, reagents, instruments, sampling, operating procedures, result calculation, repeatability, and inspection reports for determining the content of monoglycerides and free glycerol. This standard is applicable to animal and plant oils, as well as products obtained by the esterification of oils, fats, and fatty acids with glycerol. This standard is not suitable for soluble polyhydroxy compounds in trichloromethane that contain two or more adjacent hydroxyl groups, in addition to monoglycerides and free glycerol, as well as soluble polyhydroxy compounds in water that contain two or more adjacent hydroxyl groups.
