Scope

This standard applies to the installation and use of fixed lead-acid batteries (including "fixed vented lead-acid batteries" and "fixed valve-regulated lead-acid batteries", hereinafter referred to as "batteries") with a maximum DC rated voltage of 1500 V. It is a main protective measure to prevent battery discharge, explosive gases, and electrolyte from causing harm to operators and safety accidents.
