Scope

This standard specifies the tolerances, structural elements, and inspection methods for integral thin-walled flanged bearing shells with an outer diameter of Do up to 250 mm and thin-walled bearing shells without flanges with an outer diameter of Do up to 500 mm. Due to changes in structural design, there are no uniform regulations for the dimensions of the bearing shells. Bearing shells that comply with this standard are mainly used in reciprocating engines. The bearing shells are composed of a steel backing and one or more layers of bearing alloy on its inner side.
