Scope

This standard specifies the main mechanical characteristics and key dimensions of disc-shaped suspension insulator string components.
This standard applies to disc-shaped suspension insulator string components used in AC overhead lines with a nominal voltage of more than 1,000 V and a frequency of no more than 100 Hz, where the insulators are made of porcelain or glass. These insulator string components have a ball-and-socket connection or groove connection. It also applies to similar-structured insulators used in substations.
