Scope

This standard specifies the emission limits of exhaust smoke from diesel engines in vehicles in use. This standard applies to vehicles in use equipped with diesel engines, with a maximum total mass of more than 400kg and a maximum design speed of more than or equal to 50km/h. This standard does not apply to compact multi-drive axle or full-time four-wheel drive vehicles.
