This document specifies the technical requirements for implementing the 4over6 mechanism to interconnect IPv4 networks on a single-stack IPv6 backbone network.
This document is applicable to the transition phase from IPv4 to IPv6 networks, and to scenarios where IPv4 access network users interconnect with each other via a single-stack IPv6 backbone network using the 4over6 technology.
