Scope

This standard specifies all the necessary information and basic test conditions for effectively measuring the noise values of self-propelled forestry machinery. This standard applies to logging machines, stacking machines, pruning machines, hauling machines, timber loaders, felling machines, felling heads, combined felling machines, shrub clearance machines, and multi-functional machines as specified in ISO 6814.
Noise emission includes the A-weighted sound pressure level and A-weighted sound power level at the operator's position. The measured noise values are essential for the following aspects:
——Manufacturers declaring the noise values of their products;
——Comparing the noise values of different machine families;
——Controlling noise sources during the design process.
Note: For noise reduction design, it is necessary to measure the noise values of each frequency band, which can be quantified according to ISO 3744 and ISO 11201.
