Scope
This document specifies the general requirements for relay protection related to series transformers, protection function requirements, protection setting calculation requirements, and secondary circuit technical requirements. This document applies to series transformers used in major flexible AC transmission equipment projects such as unified power flow controllers, static synchronous series compensators, and controllable phase shifters connected to voltage levels of 110 kV and above. Other voltage levels, other types of flexible AC transmission equipment containing series transformers, and other scenarios of series transformers used in conventional power grids can refer to and implement this document accordingly.
