Scope

This standard specifies the test method for the flame retardancy of polyester staple fibers (including hollow fibers) and polyester filament yarns - the oxygen index method.
This standard is applicable to the determination of the oxygen index of polyester staple fibers (including hollow fibers) and polyester filament yarns.
This standard is only used to determine the combustion performance of materials under laboratory conditions and to control product quality, but it cannot be used as a basis for assessing the fire hazard under actual use conditions, or it can only be used to analyze all factors when a material for a particular use catches fire. This standard is not applicable to the evaluation of materials with high shrinkage rates after heating.
