Scope
This document specifies the detection method of ultrasonic diffraction time-difference technology for welded joints of metal equipment in thermal power plants, the evaluation of detection results, and the detection method for defect monitoring. This document is applicable to the detection of ultrasonic diffraction time-difference and defect monitoring of welded joints of steel pressure-bearing parts with a nominal thickness of not less than 6 mm and an outer diameter of not less than 32 mm, as well as the detection of ultrasonic diffraction time-difference and defect monitoring of butt welded joints and T-shaped welded joints of steel plates in the manufacture, installation, and maintenance of thermal power plants. The detection of ultrasonic diffraction time-difference of butt welded joints of aluminum pipes and aluminum plates with a nominal thickness of not less than 6 mm and an outer diameter of not less than 32 mm can be carried out in accordance with this document. The detection of internal wall defects of pipes or forgings with a nominal outer diameter of not less than 108 mm can be carried out in accordance with this document. This document is not applicable to welded joints of materials such as cast steel and austenitic stainless steel, nor to dissimilar steel welded joints with one side being austenitic stainless steel.
