Scope
This standard specifies a laboratory test method for evaluating the scratch resistance of photographic emulsions or gelatin back layers during the processing and washing process. This method is suitable for determining changes in the performance of processing solutions, the characteristics of gelatin layers, processing solution temperature and processing time, and the combined effects of these factors on the wet scratch resistance of gelatin layers. This method is also suitable for determining the firmness of photographic emulsions in a wet state, but it is not suitable for evaluating the scratch resistance of support materials.
