This document specifies the requirements for forged cobalt-28 chromium-6 molybdenum alloys used in surgical implants.
This document applies to pressure-processed rods and wires.
Note: High-carbon alloys produce a distinct carbide distribution structure, which can be adjusted during the production of rods or during subsequent heat treatment of finished products. The distribution of carbides in finished products is not covered by the provisions of this document.
