Scope: This document specifies the determination of maturity for harvesting Xiangnan navel oranges, harvesting requirements, transportation, and file management. This document applies to the harvest and transportation of fresh Xiangnan navel oranges. Main Technical Content: 3. Terms and Definitions The following terms and definitions apply to this document. 3.1 Xiangnan Navel Orange Xiangnan navel oranges refer to navel oranges grown in cities such as Yongzhou, Chenzhou, Shaoyang, Huaihua, Hengyang, and Zhuzhou, located between 110°E and 114°E and 25°N and 26.5°N. The main varieties are medium-ripe Navel oranges, covering early and late ripening varieties. The soluble solids content should be ≥11%, and the oranges should have quality characteristics such as "red and clean, fresh and sweet, and fragrant" that distinguish them from other production areas. 3.2 Color Break After the green color of the fruit peel fades, the orange-red or orange-yellow color accounts for more than two-thirds of the fruit surface. 3.3 Harvest Maturity Harvest maturity refers to the stage when the fruit has completed growth and nutrient accumulation, achieved color change, and is ready for harvest. At this stage, the fruit is not yet suitable for fresh consumption, but it is suitable for long-term storage and transportation. 3.4 Edible Maturity Edible maturity refers to the stage when the fruit has achieved the inherent excellent qualities of color, aroma, flavor, and shape of the variety, reaching the optimal consumption period. 3.5 Defective Fruit Defective fruit includes underdeveloped small fruits, diseased and pest-infested fruits, mechanically damaged fruits, deformed fruits, and fallen fruits. 4. Maturity Determination When harvesting, the harvest maturity and edible maturity of the fruit should comply with the requirements of Tables 1 and 2, and the sampling method should comply with GB/T 8855.
