Scope
This document specifies the pre-treatment requirements for soil samples used in the analysis of stable and non-volatile physical and chemical indicators. The five pre-treatment processes described in this document are drying, crushing, sieving, sampling, and grinding. The pre-treatment processes described in this document are not applicable when they affect the measurement results. This document is also not applicable to samples used for the determination of volatile compounds. When other pre-treatment methods are required, they are usually described in the standards for physical and chemical analysis methods.
