Scope

This standard specifies the classification and marking, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, and storage of low-pressure external thread bronze shut-off valves for marine use (hereinafter referred to as shut-off valves).
This standard applies to the design, manufacture, and acceptance of shut-off valves used in marine pipelines for seawater, freshwater, fuel oil, lubricating oil, and steam with a temperature not exceeding 250°C.
