Scope

This standard specifies the determination of Fe2+ and Fe3+ in refractory materials by the o-phenanthroline spectrophotometry method. The determination range (mass fraction) of Fe2+ and Fe3+ is: the sum of the two is less than 8%. This standard is applicable to materials such as feldspar, kaolinite, clay, limestone, and quartz. Other related materials can also be measured according to this standard. This standard is not applicable to reducing materials, such as silicon carbide and magnesia carbon bricks.
